Father and Son show

Posted on August 30, 2008January 20, 2016

Shortly after his move to Dawson, my dad and I were invited to exhibit some of our work together at the Dawson City Museum during the Yukon Riverside Arts Festival in August, 2008. Despite the Pastel by Ilgvars Steinsrain quite a few curious folk turned up. Ilgvars kept everyone amused with his witty anecdotes.

Dad displayed some of his pen and inks and pastels. I showed 9 framed pieces.

Some of Ilgvars’ subject matter borders on the surreal and grotesque, masterfully executed of course, but challenging for some viewers. And that’s a good thing.
